Firing Up Our Self-Belief This February

I know from my own personal experience that coming out this side of winter can leave us all feeling a little frazzled. We got through January… sometimes it feels like we scraped through…and now we are looking ahead at the rest of the year thinking “how am I going to build my energy to do this”. We are knacked and our resilience is quite possibly at an all-time low. I’ve been here so many times before and this is usually where I then start to feel all those little self-doubt niggles.
“I don’t have time. I can’t do that. I’m not good enough. I’ll never manage that. I’m not good at those things. That person is better than me. Should I be doing this. Do I have the energy to grow.” blah blah blah. The self-doubt thoughts become endless and roll on repeat. Am I right?!

Well, it doesn’t have to be like this- promise! This month I want us to work together to build back up our self-belief. To bust through the self-doubt that creeps in when resilience is low and to KNOW… whole heartedly, that I CAN.
I CAN do anything. I CAN learn new things. I CAN be present. I CAN start again. I CAN create time. I CAN choose myself. I CAN provide. I CAN grow. I CAN take up space. I CAN….
I CAN is an incredibly powerful affirmation and it’s one that we will be using and saying a lot this month. It will help us to connect to our internal self-belief. Which, my friends, is there always…we just need to push past the external noise, connect to our belief and reframe our thoughts from I CAN’T to I CAN.

There is a powerful Sutra (a verse in the Yogic texts) which states “Practice becomes firmly grounded when done for a long time, without interruption, and with devotion” - in this instance this can mean that our belief appears through consistent action, not waiting for the confidence to show up first… so if we reframe our thoughts and start acting, the belief will follow.
I’m going to talk more about how I’ve used these types of statements and reframing tools to help me in my next blog.
This month across the Flowing Flamingo channels we will be exploring the idea of Self-belief and I CAN. Connecting us back into our own personal power and helping us to reframe our thoughts…. knowing that we are right where we need to be already, no changes needed, maybe just a little reframe.

To do this we will be working with our Solar Plexus chakra in class. Our Manipura. This is the space in your body located just above the belly button and enables us to connect to our own personal power, confidence and belief.
We will also be working with a concept called Santosha. This is contentment. The idea that we are at peace with ourselves exactly as we are. No changes needed. Because we have everything we need already to reframe our doubts and know that I CAN.
Join me this month and let’s unlock the power of self-belief.
To kick yourself off this month, I offer you a very simple exercise.
Anytime you notice yourself saying I CAN’T or anything negative about yourself STOP. Take a pause and reframe. Change the sentence from negative to positive.
I can’t do this exercise -> I CAN do this exercise (and I’ll feel amazing for it)
I can’t finish this blog -> I CAN finish this blog (and it will be epic)
I don’t have time -> I DO have time (and I can fill it with something fun)
I’m not as good as that person -> I AM amazing and can do anything I put my mind to
Give it a go and see how just simply reframing makes you feel.
