Ending 2025 with a big heap of Gratitude and some FLOW!

Well, what can I say, this has been a monumental year for me and my little business. As we come to the end of 2025 it marks the end of my first full calendar year of self-employed life and running Flowing Flamingo!!

Right here, right now… I can honestly say it’s exactly what I dreamed it would be. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to do something I truly love and share it with my community around me.

It’s been a year full of so much fun and joy as well as learning, self-discovery and a lot of hard work. I've introduced new classes, collaborated with friends on workshops and retreat days and even ran my first SOLO retreat day which was everything I hoped it would be :)

I've learnt a lot about myself this year too and have some important lessons as I flow into 2026. Note the word flow.... I think this needs to be my word of the year actually! One of the biggest learnings is that I like to plan. Now, there is nothing wrong with a good, solid plan - especially when you are running a business, but i've found that if I plan too much or give myself a rigid schedule then I start to pile pressure onto myself. Who needs that right?! I'm my own boss, so I really shouldn't be putting pressure on myself like that. So i'm going to lean more into my flow this year.

Coming into the end of the year we can all feel (me included) that pressure to plan for 2026. What do we want to achieve, where do we want our businesses to go, how do we want to be, what habits do we want to break or add into our lives? So much pressure….

BUT

The year is a loonnng time…. and actually winter is not really the moment to be making these big life changes or commitments. Spring and Summer are more aligned to this. So, I encourage you (and myself) to take it easy in January, to be kind to yourselves and if you haven’t written a 5 year business plan that’s ok. Let's flow!

Instead, like me, let’s try to finish the year with gratitude.

Gratitude for who we have become, who we are, who we were (yes that’s very important). Gratitude for our bodies, our breath. Gratitude for what we’ve achieved and the learnings we’ve made along the way. Gratitude for each other, loved ones, acquaintances and strangers alike, because they all bring something to your lives.

As I sit here and reflect on the year I’m grateful for so much, but this year has been particularly special for me because of the people in my life.

My partner and family for non-stop support, pride and encouragement.

My friends, new and old, who are always there to chew the fat, go deep (or not) and have some serious belly laughs.

My Yoga community, my students. You guys come back week after week; you attend workshops and retreats and are always so gracious. Gracious to me and with yourselves. I’m so proud to be a small part of your lives and thank you so much for continuing to be a big part of mine.

So, with that, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Spending it with who you love, doing what you love and noticing the gratitude you have in your lives- big or small.

See you next year on the mat.

Love, Tash xx
